Applying to Art & Technique is easy!

If you are serious about your future and succeeding in the beauty industry, we are confident that Art & Technique is the right college for you!

Prior to submitting your application, make sure you complete the list below:

  • Review the academic requirements to ensure you qualify.

  • Visit our Oshawa campus

  • Complete the enrollment form online or download and submit it by mail or in person; provide proof of all required documentation (as outlined under admission requirements); and enrollment fee (to be applied to tuition).

Admission Requirements

Art & Technique Academy is Registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act 2005. As such all of our students must meet the minimum academic requirement as follows:

Hairstyling / Cosmetology Diploma
  • Birth Certificate

  • Social Insurance Number

  • Valid Government Photo ID

  • $100 registration fee (applied to tuition)

  • Successful Completion of 12 Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); and

  • 18 years of age or older

  • ​

Advanced Esthetics/Spa Therapy & Electrolysis Diplomas
  • Birth Certificate

  • Social Insurance Number

  • Valid Government Photo ID

  • $100 registration fee (applied to tuition)

  • Successful Completion of 12 Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); and

  • 18 years of age or older or Mature Student (note: admissions test is required in absence of proof of grade 12 diploma or equivalency)

Canadian High School and Mature Student Scholarship Award Program

Art & Technique Academy is proud to introduce the Scholarship, Grant, and Bursary program to be awarded annually. Students in today’s society deserve every opportunity and encouragement to do what they love. Art & Technique Academy recognizes the term “giving back” and understands the financial needs for students to pursue their dreams.

How to Apply:

  • Application Form: Complete the Academy’s application form and submit a photocopy of all entrance requirements. (All requirements must be met in order to qualify)
  • Essay Requirements: Submit an essay of a minimum of 500 words explaining:
    • Why Art & Technique Academy should consider awarding you a grant.​
    • What motivated you to become interested in the beauty industry
  • Letter of Recommendation: A reference or recommendation letter from two of the following: a professional salon/spa owner, guidance counselor, government official, teacher, or training consultant on your behalf
  • Photograph: A clear “headshot” photograph of yourself

The applicant must demonstrate outstanding qualities in the areas of leadership, community spirit, involvement, and volunteering.

 

All submissions will be forwarded to Head Office (Oshawa Campus) and considered on an individual basis. The registrar will interview applicants and recipients will be notified and contacted personally. Recipients will be determined from a scholarship committee consisting of a minimum of 3 members. Scholarship recipients must enroll within the same calendar year in which the scholarship was awarded.

Scholarship/grants are issued in the amounts of $500.00 and $1,000.00(CDN).

 

Owners/employees of Art & Technique Academy and members of their immediate families are not eligible for the scholarship/grant program.

 

Recipients must maintain the status of a student in good standing while attending Art & Technique Academy. A recipient’s scholarship may be terminated if the recipient does not adhere to Art & Technique Academy of Hairstyling and Esthetics Rules, Regulations and Policies.

SECOND CAREER

Ontario’s Government offers Second Career as a program to assist unemployed individuals with support financially.

 

You could possibly qualify for up to $28,000.00 or more based on circumstances. This is to pay for tuition, books, living expenses, travel & other related costs.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Have I been laid off from a full time job within the last 4 years?

2. Do I currently work less than 20 hours a week or am unemployed?

3. Do I have an interest in training for a new career?
